IMF President Conducts On-Site Inspection Ahead of Asia Minifootball Championship 2026 in Indonesia

MEDIABBC.co.id, Jakarta Indonesia has entered a decisive phase in its preparation to host the Asia Minifootball Championship 2026, as the President of the International Minifootball Federation (IMF), M. Al Dausari, conducted an official working visit on 5–6 February 2026 to directly assess the country’s readiness.

The visit underscores IMF’s close supervision of the tournament’s preparations and serves as a critical benchmark for Indonesia’s capability to host a major continental minifootball event in accordance with international standards.

On the first day, the IMF President attended the official group stage draw in Jakarta, a key milestone that determines the competitive structure of the tournament. The event was attended by officials from the Indonesian Minifootball Association (KSMI) and representatives of qualified national teams.

According to Al Dausari, Indonesia’s preparations have drawn significant attention from the Asian minifootball community.

“Indonesia has demonstrated a strong commitment to delivering a high-quality championship. Today’s draw is an important step to ensure fair competition and sporting integrity. With continued collaboration, this tournament can elevate the profile of minifootball across Asia and beyond,” he said.

KSMI President, Dr. Ir. Yan Mulia Abidin, stated that the IMF President’s presence reflects both confidence and responsibility.

“This visit represents direct recognition from IMF. It also places Indonesia under the spotlight to prove that we can organize an international tournament professionally and sustainably,” Yan emphasized.

On the second day, the IMF delegation is scheduled to visit Jakabaring Sport City, Palembang, to inspect the Elite Mini Soccer Field, which will serve as one of the main competition venues. The inspection includes field quality, supporting facilities, and compliance with IMF technical requirements, including synthetic turf specifications.

Agung Kurniawan, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Asia Minifootball Championship 2026, confirmed that all facilities have undergone significant upgrades.

“We have focused on improving every element, from the pitch and locker rooms to prayer facilities and spectator access. This inspection will ensure Palembang is fully prepared to welcome teams and fans from across Asia,” he said.

Support from local government and the South Sumatra community has also played a crucial role. KSMI Secretary General, Daeng Supriyanto, SH, MH, CMS, highlighted the broader impact of the event.

“Palembang has strong potential as an international sports host city. This championship is not only about competition, but also about developing grassroots talent and strengthening Indonesia’s minifootball ecosystem,” he noted.

The Asia Minifootball Championship 2026 is scheduled to take place later this month and is expected to serve as a strategic platform to enhance regional cooperation through sport, while positioning Indonesia as an emerging hub for minifootball in Asia.Redaksi).
